Embassies, trade missions, residences, pilgrim compounds and churches that the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and the Russian Orthodox Church built or acquired outside the country. The section lists 978 objects, each with its address, years, function, present owner and a status that carries a source and a date.
No complete public register of this property exists: the records are kept by state bodies and church administrations and are not published. Published estimates of Soviet objects alone range from a few thousand to some twenty thousand, counting flats, warehouses and plots of land. The atlas shows only what at least two independent open sources confirm and grows as objects are checked. A status is a reference note with a link to a publication, not a legal opinion.
