The barracks complex in the Karłowice district by today's Koszarowa Street already existed in the early twentieth century (a 1918 photograph is held by the Museum of the University of Wrocław). After 1945 it was used by Soviet troops: the garrison command, a hospital and a school for officers' children were located here. The last serviceman of the Russian garrison left Wrocław on 16 June 1993; after the withdrawal the buildings were handed over to civilian institutions. Coordinates: the building of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Wrocław at 3 Koszarowa Street.
