After 1945 it was used by the Polish Army, and from 1957 to 1993 a Soviet signals brigade was stationed here; the complex of more than 119 hectares included a housing estate, depots, garages and a fuel base. On 12 May 1993 the site was handed over to the Polish side; in spring 1993 the barracks were taken over by the municipality of Międzyrzecz, and in December 1993 the first civilian residents moved in.
