The complex of apartment buildings on Schwaigerova Street in Prague's Bubeneč district, next to the embassy and Stromovka park, was built in the 1980s for the Soviet mission on the basis of a Czechoslovak government resolution; the construction costs were borne by the Soviet side and the buildings are recorded as its property. Because of this development the former Schwaiger Square was reclassified as a street in 1988. The land under the buildings remains the property of the Czech Republic; Russia's title to the structures was entered in the cadastre under a Czech government resolution of January 2020.
According to ČT24 on 13 August 2026, after the resolutions on free use of the plots were revoked in May 2023 the Czech state is suing the Russian embassy for payment for the use of land on which, among others, the Schwaigerova houses stand; title to the buildings themselves is not the subject of the claim.
