Czech RepublicЗдеховице1968–1990Military sites
Until 1968 Zdechovice Chateau housed a Czechoslovak road construction battalion. In the first ten days of October 1968 the premises were handed over to Soviet troops, and an engineer battalion was stationed here until 1990. The battalion was withdrawn in June–August 1990; on the twenty-second anniversary of the troops' arrival, in August 1990, the Soviet side vacated the chateau, the motor pool and 90 flats, which then passed into civilian ownership.
