After the dissolution of the order, the Baroque Jesuit college in Jičín served as barracks — first for the imperial and then for the Czechoslovak army. After 1968 the complex was used by Soviet troops; the signals battalion stationed in Jičín was withdrawn in March–April 1991. After the troops left, the building stood empty and deteriorated, and the town later began its gradual repair.
