The villa in the Pisárky district was built in 1909–1911 to a design by the Austrian architect Leopold Bauer for the textile entrepreneur Hugo Hecht and is a listed cultural monument. After passing into state ownership it housed an Interior Ministry school in 1949–1953 and then became the seat of the Soviet and later the Russian consulate. The exact year the consulate moved in (not earlier than 1953) and the manner of transfer are not stated in open sources.
