An airport on the north-eastern outskirts of Kabul. The list of projects completed in Afghanistan under Soviet technical assistance includes the international airfield in Kabul with a runway 2,800 metres long and 47 metres wide, completed in 1962; its reconstruction was envisaged under a 1979 agreement.
