The 20-storey building at 355 West 255th Street was built in 1974 on a site purchased by the USSR in December 1971. It used a top-down construction method, with prefabricated floors hoisted onto the frame starting from the top storey; the architects were Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and the contractor Tishman Construction. The building contains about 240 apartments, a school, an auditorium and sports facilities, and is used by the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN.

Применён метод строительства «сверху вниз»: сборные перекрытия поднимались на каркас начиная с верхнего этажа; проект выполнен бюро Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, подрядчик — Tishman Construction. В здании около 240 квартир, школа, зал и спортивные помещения; используется постоянным представительством России при ООН.
