The Tudor Revival mansion was built in 1912 for George Dupont Pratt to a design by Trowbridge & Ackerman. The estate was purchased by the USSR as a country retreat for its UN delegation; publications give different purchase years — 1946 (citing The New York Times) and 1951. After 1991 it passed to the Russian Federation and is used by the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN.
