A neo-Georgian town house built in 1909–1911 to a design by McKim, Mead & White for financier Percy R. Pyne. The Soviet Union bought it in 1948 from the Chinese delegation to the UN, and it housed the Soviet Mission to the United Nations until 1964. In September 1960 Nikita Khrushchev addressed reporters from its balcony. After the mission moved to East 67th Street the house was sold; it has been a New York City landmark since 1970.
