Until 1968 the Partisan Yegorov Barracks in the centre of Zvolen housed Czechoslovak training courses for foreign pilots, which were then moved to Piešťany. In October 1968 the barracks were handed over to Soviet troops and accommodated the headquarters of a motor rifle division, a signals battalion and a medical battalion. The units were withdrawn in autumn 1990, after which the barracks were assigned to civilian use.
