The masonry church was built in 1904–1907 with funds from Russian merchants and local Orthodox residents to replace an earlier one that had fallen into ruin; the village was then part of the Kingdom of Poland within the Russian Empire, and the parish belonged to the Russian Orthodox Church. According to Polish Wikipedia, it was designed by the eparchial architect Vladimir Pokrovsky and consecrated on 16 August 1907. The church was closed in 1915–1918 while the residents were evacuated; today it is a parish church of the Terespol deanery.
The monument register of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage of Poland (Lublin Voivodeship; as of 30 June 2026) lists the building as the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, turn of the 20th century (No. A/1409 of 15 December 1988).
