The wooden church in the so-called Trans-Ural style was designed and built in 1894 for Orthodox visitors to the spa; at that time Ciechocinek was part of the Russian Empire (Kingdom of Poland). Between the wars the building was converted into a casino; it later housed a school and a warehouse. In 1995–1996 the church was restored and reconsecrated; it stands in the grounds of the military spa hospital and belongs to the Orthodox Ordinariate of the Polish Army.
According to the Strona Podróży portal (1 November 2023), since its restoration in 1995–1996 the church has served the Orthodox military parish; services are held on Sundays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
