Fort VIIA Służewiec of the Warsaw Fortress

1890–1892Military sites
The latest fort of the outer ring of the Warsaw Fortress, built in 1890–1892 to reinforce the sector by the road to Puławy (today's ul. Puławska); the Kingdom of Poland was then part of the Russian Empire. The earthwork had brick-and-concrete shelters; after 1909, when the fortress was abolished, the combat shelters were blown up, while a concrete storage casemate survives. After the Second World War the site was occupied by the Czołówka film studio, which kept its archive here. The fort was entered in the register of monuments in 1992.
