The brick Orthodox garrison Church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1856 in Chełm, then part of the Kingdom of Poland within the Russian Empire. Between the wars it was a Roman Catholic garrison church; after the Second World War the building was used as a warehouse. In 1982 it was returned to the faithful and on 22 August consecrated by Bishop Bolesław Pylak; since June 2001 the parish has had civil-military status.
