The settlement in Colesbukta, between Grumant and Barentsburg, was the coal shipping port of the Soviet Grumant mine owned by the Arktikugol trust. Coal was carried from the mine to the quay by a covered railway until mining ceased in 1961. A hut built in 1912 by Vladimir Rusanov's expedition survives at the entrance to the bay.
