HungaryДебрецен1944–1990Military sites
After autumn 1944 the military airfield on the southern edge of Debrecen was shared for about three decades by the Red (Soviet) Army and Hungarian civil aviation; from 1977 it was used almost exclusively by Soviet aviation. On 18 May 1990 the last Soviet unit left the airfield and it was returned to the Hungarian state.
