The state asylum at Teupitz, designed by Theodor Goecke on the pavilion system and opened in 1908, was taken over by the Red Army on 27 April 1945. From May 1945 most of the main complex, including the administrative and service buildings, housed a Soviet, later Russian, hospital that operated until 1994, while a German clinic continued in the remaining part. The complex is a protected monument.
