Дворец культуры в Бёлене (дом культуры комбината советского акционерного общества)
The palace of culture was built in 1949–1952 and opened on 31 January 1952; its hall seated about a thousand. Planning began in 1949 on the initiative of the Soviet side: the management of the Soviet joint-stock company that then owned the Böhlen combine allocated funds to improve workers' living conditions, and the construction estimate was 11.8 million marks. In 1952 the combine's plants were returned to German ownership; in June 2002 the main hall was damaged by fire, and in 2006 the building passed to the town of Böhlen.
