The building at 40–50 Boulevard Lannes (16th arrondissement) stands on a site of about 15,000 m² provided by France in exchange for a site for the French embassy in Moscow. It was designed by architects Anatoly Klimochkin, Dmitry Lisichkin and Igor Pokrovsky, with Pierre Jougleux on the French side; it was built in 1973–1977 and inaugurated on 22 June 1977. The embassy moved here from the Hôtel d'Estrées on Rue de Grenelle in 1978; the building now houses the Embassy of Russia in France.
