The cemetery Church of the Dormition was built in 1908 to a design by civil engineer N. A. Kazy-Girey with funds from the Chinese Eastern Railway, Harbin's St Nicholas Cathedral and parishioners' donations; it was consecrated on 22 November 1908. A free-standing bell tower was added at the cemetery entrance in 1922. After the graves were relocated the grounds became the city's Culture Park; the church and bell tower survive as a protected monument.
