Bukhedu station of the Chinese Eastern Railway was built in 1901 and opened in 1903 at the eastern approach to the Khingan pass, where banking locomotives were attached to and detached from trains. A roundhouse with a turntable, a water tower opposite it, the office of the head of the traction section and a railway hospital of 1903 survive in the settlement from that period. The station buildings form part of the protected Chinese Eastern Railway architectural complex.
