ChinaХарбин1907–1908Public buildings
A military church dedicated to the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, built in 1907–1908 to a design by civil engineer K. Kh. Denisov in the manner of 17th-century Yaroslavl architecture and consecrated on 3 June 1908; it was attached to the Chinese Eastern Railway guard and served as a memorial to soldiers who died in the Russo-Japanese War. Services ceased in 1962 and the domes were removed. In 2017 the city began restoring the building as part of the redevelopment of the north square of Harbin railway station; crosses were returned to the domes in 2019.
