The corner building in Vienna's Währing district was built in 1908 to a design by Hans Kazda as the Cottage Sanatorium for nervous and metabolic disorders. After 1945 it was held by the American administration, which used it as a hotel until 1955. In 1956 the building was sold to the Soviet side (to the Soviet chamber of commerce, according to Wien Geschichte Wiki) and was used as a school and housing for diplomatic staff. In the Austrian land register the property was re-registered to the Russian Federation in 2009.
