The steam locomotive that hauled the first train of builders along the Turkestan–Siberia Railway, placed in 1974 on honorary display at the Almaty-2 station. The monument commemorates the completion of the Turksib, which in 1930 connected Central Asia with Siberia — one of the principal construction projects of the first five-year plan.
