Многофункциональный спортивно-зрелищный зал (1964–1971, арх. Мацей Гинтовт и Мацей Красиньский, инж. Вацлав Залевский). Узнаваем по форме «летающей тарелки» с вантовой крышей-куполом на стальных тросах. Открыт 9 мая 1971 года, икона польского модернизма.
A multifunctional sports and entertainment arena (1964–1971, architects Maciej Gintowt and Maciej Krasiński, engineer Wacław Zalewski). It is recognizable for its "flying saucer" shape with a cable-stayed dome roof suspended on steel cables. Opened on 9 May 1971, it is an icon of Polish modernism.

Two independent sources cite the final construction cost as approximately 800 million old Polish zloty (PLZ, pre-1995 redenomination), compared to an initial budget of 200 million zloty. The overrun was caused by an 18-month construction halt due to underground coal deposits threatening structural stability. The figure appears in the English Wikipedia infobox (~800 million zł) and is confirmed by whitemad.pl's 50th-anniversary article on the Spodek ("200 million PLN was earmarked for the investment, but the final cost was around 800 million PLN"). Both sources use the pre-redenomination zloty amounts.
