Kyiv TV Tower

Киевская телебашня
USSRКиев1968–1973Public buildings
A free-standing lattice tower 385 metres high — the world's first all-welded structure of its kind. Assembly was carried out by jacking up from below, without high-rise cranes or helicopters, and all pipe joints were made by electric welding.
Решётчатая свободностоящая башня высотой 385 метров — первое в мире цельносварное сооружение подобного типа. Монтаж вёлся методом подращивания снизу, без высотных кранов и вертолётов, а все соединения труб выполнены электросваркой.

Two secondary sources give differing dollar figures: English Wikipedia states "approximately $12 million"; mediasat.info states "$19 million (at 70 kopecks per $1 Soviet exchange rate)". Neither cites a primary archival document. The $12M figure is more widely cited internationally; $19M is reported with an explicit exchange rate context implying ~13.3M Soviet rubles. Both figures are expressed in USD as retrospective conversions — no direct ruble figure was found in any source. Reported range: $12M–$19M; value set to the lower (more conservative, more cited) figure of $12M and value_max to $19M.
