The brick, stucco-covered church with a central tower and onion dome stands at Fifth Street and Long Avenue in the coal town of Colver; the historic district nomination dates it to 1914 and describes it as founded by immigrant miners (Slovaks, in its wording) on a lot obtained from the coal company. The Orthodox Church in America directory gives 1916 as the founding year of the parish. The Colver Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 3 June 1994.
The parish directory of the Orthodox Church in America (2026 edition) lists the parish as active; it is served by archdiocesan clergy, and Sunday services alternate with SS. Peter and Paul Church in Altoona.
