USAДжуно1893–1894Public buildings
The octagonal wooden church was built in 1893–1894, after the Alaska purchase, at the request of the local Tlingit community. It was built by Tlingit people and Serbian miners on donated land, using plans and funds sent from Russia. It was consecrated in 1894 by Bishop Nicholas (Ziorov) and has been on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since 1973.
