The wooden building was erected in 1886 as Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The Russian Orthodox parish, incorporated in 1952, received it in 1957 from the Episcopal congregation on condition that it be moved; the church was relocated to 1220 Crane Street. By early 2013 a three-year renovation that kept the historic exterior was nearing completion. The parish belongs to the Diocese of the West of the Orthodox Church in America.
