St. John the Baptist Church, Angoon

1928–1929Public buildings
A wooden church on pilings built in 1928–1929 by parishioners who moved to Angoon from the neighbouring village of Killisnoo after a fire destroyed the parish's earlier church. It was consecrated on 18 November 1929; the bells were brought from Killisnoo in March 1930. A hexagonal open belfry with a small onion dome stands over the west end of the gable roof. The church was listed on the US National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
