The building on Fairmount Avenue was erected in the later 1860s for a Methodist congregation and from 1892 belonged to a Lutheran parish. In spring 1919 it was acquired, together with the rectory, by a community of immigrants from the Russian Empire: the first payment of one thousand dollars was made on 6 March 1919. The parish belongs to the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA (Moscow Patriarchate); it celebrated its centennial in May 2019.
