USAЛос-Анджелес1937–1982Public buildings
A cathedral of the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. The parish arose in 1929–1930; in 1937 a building was bought with donations and consecrated on 17 October 1937 in honour of the Transfiguration. In 1948–1949 the building was the subject of a property dispute between ROCOR and the North American Metropolia, settled in favour of the former. Construction of a new stone cathedral began in 1979, with regular services held in it since 1982.
