St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, San Diego
Никольская церковь (Сан-Диего)
A Russian Orthodox parish in San Diego was organised in 1940 by Fr. Makary Baranoff, sent by Metropolitan Theophilus; on 14 December 1940 the parishioners decided to dedicate the church to St. Nicholas. In the early years services were held in a rented house. The church on Cherokee Avenue was built in 1957 and the social hall in 1960. The parish belongs to the Diocese of the West of the Orthodox Church in America.
Русский православный приход в Сан-Диего организован в 1940 году священником Макарием Барановым, направленным митрополитом Феофилом; 14 декабря 1940 года прихожане решили посвятить церковь святителю Николаю. Первые годы службы шли в арендованном доме. В 1957 году на Чероки-авеню построена церковь, в 1960 году — приходской зал. Приход относится к епархии Запада Православной церкви в Америке.
