In 1992 the parish bought a plot with a house in Chiswick; the cornerstone of the Pskov-style cathedral was laid on 27 November 1997, the first service was held in 1999, and the lower church was blessed on 16 October 2003. The cathedral was consecrated in 2018; until 2017 it was dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God. The parish traces its history to the 18th-century embassy church in London.
