A wooden waterfront residence with a park on the European shore of the Bosphorus, on a plot presented by the Sultan to the Russian embassy; the buildings date from the first quarter of the 19th century. In 1818, under envoy Count G. A. Stroganov, a house church of Sts Constantine and Helena was set up at the residence and rebuilt in 1867. After relations were established between Turkey and Soviet Russia the residence passed to the Soviet side; the church was reconsecrated in 2009.
