The church was built by the town's Russian community; between the wars Bela Crkva housed a cadet corps and the Mariinsky Institute. Fundraising began in 1930 after a donation of 50,000 dinars by Prince Dmitry Shakhovskoy; the masonry was completed in 1931 and on 9 October 1932 the church was consecrated by Bishop Feofan of Kursk. At the end of 1954 the Russian church communities, including that of Bela Crkva, were placed under the jurisdiction of the Serbian Orthodox Church; restoration and painting of the church began in 2002. The church stands at 37 Svetosavska Street.
