JapanИдзу (Сюдзэндзи)1912Public buildings
A plastered wooden church with a bell tower, built in 1912 to a design by Moses Kawamura Izo by some 70 parishioners and craftsmen in three and a half months, with prayers for the recovery of Archbishop Nicholas of Japan, head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission. It houses an iconostasis and furnishings from the church at Port Arthur that had been kept at the Tokyo cathedral. The building is a designated cultural property of Shizuoka Prefecture.
