IsraelИерусалим1862–1863Public buildings
A two-storey pilgrims' hospital built in 1862–1863 as part of the Russian Compound in Jerusalem; the in-patient ward had 50 beds, and an outpatient clinic was added in 1889. From 1889 the hospital was run by the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society. In 1964 the building was sold to the State of Israel together with most of the Russian Compound; it now houses departments of the Jerusalem Municipality, and the inscription 'Russian Hospital' remains on the façade.
