The five-domed cathedral on Hohenzollerndamm was founded on 31 August 1936 and consecrated on 12 June 1938, replacing the earlier 1928 cathedral building, which had been sold to a construction firm. Since 1945 the parish has been under the Moscow Patriarchate; it is the cathedral of the Diocese of Berlin and Germany. In 2010 the Berlin authorities agreed to transfer the plot under the cathedral to the Russian Orthodox Church.

Пятиглавый собор на Гогенцоллерндамм заложен 31 августа 1936 года и освящён 12 июня 1938 года взамен прежнего соборного здания 1928 года, проданного строительной фирме. С 1945 года приход находится в юрисдикции Московского патриархата; собор является кафедральным храмом Берлинской и Германской епархии. В 2010 году власти Берлина согласились передать участок под собором в собственность Русской православной церкви.
