The church of the Russian colony in the resort town of Pau was, according to the parish website, founded in 1867 on the initiative of the colony's chaplain, Father Herodion, with about 65,000 francs raised by subscription among Russian aristocrats, and became the third Russian Orthodox church in France after those in Nice and Paris. According to Russian Wikipedia, the plot with a small church and a priest's house was bought by the Russian colony and the consecration took place on 16 December 1866. The parish belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
