The church in the courtyard of 91 rue Lecourbe was set up in 1933 in a garden hut beside a Russian student hostel founded in 1922; its first rector was the priest Dimitri Troitsky. The parish remained a tenant until 1961, when the Institution Saint-Séraphin-de-Sarov, created for the purpose, acquired the plot with the parish house and the church. In 1974 a new, more spacious church was built on the same site. On 17 April 2022 the interior was destroyed by fire and was subsequently rebuilt with donations.
