The women's monastic community, founded in 1885 at Leśna in Siedlce Governorate, moved to France in August 1950 after years in Serbia and was housed in a rented building at Fourqueux near Paris. In 1967 an Association of Friends of the Convent was set up to purchase the Chauvincourt-Provemont estate in Normandy with its house, large church and park, and the convent moved there. The convent has remained on the estate to the present day.
