Church of Sts. Peter and Paul, Hamina

The circular church beside the Town Hall Square was completed in 1837; its architecture combines neoclassicism with Byzantine features, and the design is attributed to Louis or David Visconti. The free-standing bell tower in the Neo-Byzantine style was built in 1862. The church is part of the ensemble of the fortress and garrison town of Hamina (Fredrikshamn), which at the time of construction was within the Russian Empire. Today the church belongs to the Orthodox Parish of South-Eastern Finland.
