A wooden chapel in the village of Sotkuma built in 1914, when Finland was a grand duchy within the Russian Empire. According to the Taipale parish, it was erected partly from logs left over from the building of the church in Polvijärvi and partly with a donation from Governor-General F. A. Seyn; it was consecrated on 19 September 1916 by the vicar bishop Seraphim. A small cemetery lies next to it.
