The wooden church with three onion domes was built in 1926 by Ukrainian and Russian farmers under the direction of Archbishop Arseny in the village of Sifton, where the Russian Orthodox Church maintained a monastery, an orphanage and a pastoral school. On 8 March 2005 the building was designated a municipal heritage site; it was owned by the Sifton Historic Society and housed a museum. After a two-year restoration the church was completely destroyed by fire in 2010; a memorial now marks the site.
